Membership Carryover

When you link your legacy salon.io account to New Salon, your membership status carries over. Every legacy user receives a 90-day free Pro trial to explore the new platform, import content, and decide on a plan -- with no disruption to your existing salon.io subscription.

How It Works

1. Link Your Legacy Account

Go to Settings > Account > Legacy Account Link and enter your salon.io username. Once verified, your legacy account is linked and the Pro trial activates automatically.

You do not need to have a site created on New Salon yet -- the trial is attached to your account, not to a specific site.

2. 90-Day Pro Trial

From the moment you link your account, you have 90 days of full Pro access on New Salon. This includes:

• Unlimited pages per site
• 25GB storage per site
• Custom domain
• Custom fonts
• Video uploads
• Remove footer branding
• Site analytics
• Priority support (12h)

During the trial, you can create up to 3 sites (the standard account limit for the trial period). Every site you create gets full Pro features.

3. Your Legacy Subscription Continues

Your existing salon.io subscription is not affected during the trial. You keep paying your current rate on the legacy platform while exploring New Salon for free. Both platforms work side by side.

4. After the Trial

When the 90-day trial ends, you have several options:

• Purchase Pro Lifetime (recommended) -- one-time payment, Pro access forever
• Subscribe to a recurring plan -- Basic, Premium, or Pro at legacy-discounted pricing
• Do nothing -- your account automatically moves to a tier based on your legacy membership (see tier mapping below)

Your content is never deleted. If your tier changes after the trial, existing content remains accessible but some features may become limited.

• Business maps to Pro because New Salon's Pro tier is the equivalent of the legacy Business tier.
• Basic Lifetime members get permanent Basic -- this honors your original lifetime purchase with a paid tier at no cost. Your lifetime commitment is recognized and your access never expires.
• Sponsored accounts were complimentary on salon.io. The 90-day Pro trial gives you time to experience the platform before choosing a plan.

Legacy Pricing Advantage

As a legacy user, you have access to grandfathered pricing if you choose a recurring subscription. Your legacy prices are locked in for 24 months:

After 24 months, prices gradually increase toward the standard rate over the following two years. This gives you a full 4-year runway at reduced rates.

Pro Lifetime -- The Recommended Path

For legacy users, Pro Lifetime is designed as the simplest and most cost-effective option:

Pro Lifetime is available at the early bird price of €399 during the first 90 days after launch. After that, the price increases to €499. Availability is limited to 500 founding members.

Importing Content During the Trial

The Pro trial is designed to give you enough room to import all your legacy content comfortably. With Pro-tier limits (unlimited pages, 25GB storage), most legacy sites import without any restrictions.

Recommended Migration Sequence

1. Link your legacy account -- Pro trial starts
2. Create a site on New Salon
3. Import your legacy content using the Migration Wizard
4. Review and customize -- adjust layouts, themes, and settings
5. Set up your custom domain (if you have one)
6. Choose your plan before the trial ends

If your legacy content exceeds the limits of the tier you choose after the trial, your existing content is preserved -- you can view and share it, but creating new pages or uploading new images will be paused until you upgrade or reduce your content.

What Happens to My salon.io Subscription?

Your legacy subscription is only cancelled automatically when you explicitly purchase a new plan or Pro Lifetime on New Salon. We never cancel it without your action.

Do I need to create a site before linking my account?

No. The Pro trial activates the moment you link your legacy account. You can create sites whenever you're ready.

Can I import my legacy content after the trial ends?

Yes. The migration wizard is always available. However, imported content will be subject to your current tier's limits. Importing during the Pro trial ensures everything fits.

What if I have multiple sites on salon.io?

You can import multiple legacy sites. During the trial, you can create up to 3 sites on New Salon. Each can receive imported content from a different legacy site.

I'm a Basic Lifetime member. Why Basic and not Pro?

The legacy Basic Lifetime plan was purchased at a very different price point and feature set. Permanent Basic on New Salon includes custom domains, custom fonts, 10 pages, 1GB storage, and site analytics -- comparable to what the original lifetime purchase covered. For Pro features, Pro Lifetime at €399 is designed as the upgrade path.

I'm on a grandfathered legacy price. Do I lose it?

Not during the trial. If you choose a recurring plan on New Salon, you get legacy-equivalent pricing for 24 months. If you stay on your legacy salon.io subscription and don't convert, your legacy price continues as-is.

When does the early bird Pro Lifetime price end?

The €399 early bird price is available for 90 days after launch. After that, the price is €499. Both are available only while founding member spots remain (limited to 500 total).

What if salon.io goes offline?

If the legacy platform is retired, all legacy users with active subscriptions automatically receive their mapped tier on New Salon permanently -- no trial or additional payment required.
